Builder Confidence in the 55+ Housing Market Remains Positive Despite Drop in the First Quarter of 2017

Despite the 12-point drop from last quarter, builder confidence in the single-family 55+ housing market is positive in the first quarter of 2017 with a reading of 55, according to the National Association of Home Builder's (NAHB) 55+ Housing Market Index (HMI).

“Although builder sentiment in the 55+ housing sector is down from the previous quarter, overall confidence is still in positive territory and builders remain optimistic about the market,” said Dennis Cunningham, chairman of NAHB's 55+ Housing Industry Council and president of ActiveWest Builders in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
